We are the Salt Lake City Bitcoin Meetup. A monthly, in-person gathering of people who take this protocol seriously. Every month, for over five years, and counting.
We meet because money is upstream of everything. For the first time in history, humanity has a form of it that no state can debase, no gatekeeper can freeze, and no permission slip is required to hold. Bitcoin is not an investment vehicle. It is an exit. A tool for sovereignty in an age where access is permissioned, accounts can be frozen, and every fiat currency eventually fails.
Cypherpunks write code. We just show up, argue, agree, and stack. No shitcoins. No gatekeeping. No corporate script. Just bitcoiners in the same room, holding the same conviction: that freedom is there for those who want it.
Developers, entrepreneurs, students, skeptics, longtime holders, and the newly curious. Whatever shape your interest in Bitcoin takes, someone here is probably working on it or thinking about it.

An entire ecosystem has been built on top of this protocol. Most of it is open source, most of it is free, and almost none of it asks permission.
